First Solar: Topaz Solar Farm is largest utility-scale photovoltaic plant in the world

Currently producing 300MW of electricity
Soon ... 550MW. It's not clear in what time frame this amount of electricity is produced, but the project's developer, First Solar, says that 550MW is comparable to the output of one coal-fired plant or one-half the output of a nuclear plant.

Also notable is that today there are several of these utility-scale photovoltaic plants, and a larger number of smaller-scale projects, under construction in California. And in the entire United States, not one nuclear plant has been approved through the government's review and permit process -- in over 30 years!
